ARK Snaps Up Coinbase, Circle Amid Prolonged Crypto Stock Rout

Prices were bleeding red again. Screens flashing lower. And most traders were doing what they usually do in moments like this, stepping back. Cathie Wood did the opposite.

As crypto stocks slid for yet another day, ARK Invest quietly went shopping.

On Monday, ARK added fresh positions across some of the biggest publicly listed crypto names. The firm bought more Coinbase, Bullish, Circle, and several crypto-linked miners, leaning into a selloff that has pushed the sector deeper into the red.

Disclosure emails show ARK spent roughly $59 million during the dip. About $16.3 million went into Coinbase. $5.2 million flowed into Bullish. $10.8 million was added to Circle Internet Group. ARK also picked up around $17 million worth of Bitmine Immersion Technologies and close to $9.9 million of CoreWeave.

The timing stood out.

Crypto equities had already been under pressure for days before Monday’s move. Bitmine dropped more than 11% in a single session. Circle slid nearly 10%. CoreWeave fell close to 8%. Coinbase sank over 6%. Bullish kept sliding as selling spread across the space.

This isn’t new behavior for ARK.

Wood’s strategy has long favored buying weakness, not chasing rallies. When prices fall for multiple days and sentiment turns sour, that’s often when ARK adds exposure and even if the selling isn’t finished yet.

And this latest buying spree only deepens positions ARK already holds in size.

Crypto-linked stocks make up a meaningful chunk of the firm’s portfolio. ARK currently holds around $609 million in Coinbase. Circle sits near $323 million. Bitmine comes in at roughly $275 million. Bullish stands around $194 million, while CoreWeave is near $140 million.

In other words, this wasn’t a toe-dip.

ARK is doubling down on its long-term crypto thesis, even as the market looks uncomfortable in the short term. While others wait for the dust to settle, Wood appears content buying while the screen is still red.
