Bitget Bridges Crypto and Traditional Markets with USDT-Powered Trading

Mohit Singh

Bitget is taking a bold step toward the future of finance. The exchange has launched a private beta feature that allows users to trade traditional markets like forex, commodities, and stock derivatives using Tether (USDT) as both collateral and settlement currency.

This move brings the best of two worlds together. Now, traders can access major fiat currency pairs, gold, and other contracts without juggling multiple brokerage accounts or converting currencies. Bitget’s CEO, Gracy Chen, called the integration of crypto, gold, stocks, forex, and commodities under one platform “historic,” highlighting the company’s ambition to simplify and unify trading.

The platform operates under the oversight of the Mauritius Financial Services Commission and offers leveraged exposure up to 500x during the beta phase. Positions will be margined and settled with USDT, giving traders the speed and flexibility of crypto with the variety of traditional markets. Access is currently limited as Bitget fine-tunes performance and risk controls.

Bitget’s numbers speak volumes. Ranked sixth by crypto spot trading volume according to CoinMarketCap, the exchange sees daily spot trading around $1.8 billion and derivatives volume approaching $12 billion, securing a spot among the top five derivatives exchanges globally.

This launch follows Bitget’s earlier innovation in tokenized stocks, introduced in July through xStocks. Users can gain blockchain-based exposure to major equities like Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, and Strategy, bridging digital assets with real-world investments.

Bitget is not alone in this push. Other exchanges are racing to unify crypto and traditional markets. Kraken rolled out commission-free trading for over 11,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs, while Bybit introduced a TradFi trading feature giving access to gold, forex, commodities, indexes, and derivatives—all from a single account and wallet.

With this launch, Bitget is clearly signaling that the future of trading is borderless, seamless, and crypto-powered, letting users explore both digital and traditional assets in one place.
